HOME-AOM is the acronym of Home applications Optimum Multimedia / multimodal system for Environment control,The aim was to realize different attempts of human-to-machine-interfaces, easifying the life of handicapped people, e.g. who are bedridden or unable to use their hands. Fundamental concepts should be developed and evaluated in their potential of realization by the project consortium. Furthermore, trend-setting concepts should be elaborated, giving a basis for market-ready products in a mid-term time frame. Therefore, usability and functionality were the top goals of the development phase, but not low prodution-costs.
